1 pint sour cream
1 pint Hellmans mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Beau Monde seasoning*
1 tablespoon dill weed
1 tablespoon onion, grated
Mix all together and serve with vegetables.
*I have not found this on the market for quite a while, below,I've posted a "copycat" recipe I've found. Someone did once ask if "ground bay leaf" could be found, and I did find it at Penzey's. Otherwise use your favorite vegetable spice blend or mix of spices.
Beau Monde Spice Mix
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon ground bay leaf
2 tablespoons white pepper
2 tablespoons black pepper
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon allspice
1 tablespoon mace
1 tablespoon cloves
Mix thoroughly and store in airtight container.
