Aunt Arlene's Meatloaf

This is the meatloaf I make most often. The meat part was a recipe put in the Family Cookbook by my Aunt. The topping is mine own concoction. I don't remember where I found it, but I love it. The nutmeg is my favorite part.It just adds that special something.

2/3 cup dry bread crumbs

1 cup skim milk

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef

2 eggs

1/4 cup onion, grated

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon sage

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup ketchup

1 teaspoon dry mustard

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Soak bread crumbs in milk for 5 minutes; add eggs, meat, onion, pepper, sage and salt. Mix well and put in a loaf pan. In small bowl, mix ketchup, dry mustard, brown sugar and nutmeg. Spread over meatloaf. Bake 1 hour.
