Chocolate Pinwheels
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate (squares or package)
Mix butter or margarine, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Divide dough in half and add chocolate to 1/2 mixing well. Chill dough. Roll white dough into a 12 x9 inch oblong. Roll chocolate dough the same size. Lay the chocolate on top of the white. Roll layers of dough together beginning at the wide side. Chill again. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut in 1/8 to 1/4 inch slices and place on un-greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
