Aunt Lorraine's Caramel Corn

My Aunt Lorraine had 5 children and it was so much fun staying overnight at her house. She had a huge almost black pot that she made popcorn in and made huge batches of popcorn to snack on.

2 c. dark brown sugar

1/2 c. dark corn syrup

1 c. butter

1 tsp. salt

Boil all above ingredients 5 minutes. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda after taking it off the burner. Pour over 5-quarts popped popcorn immediately. Mix and stir. Bake in 200° oven 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on brown paper to cool.
