Eileen was a very good friend of my Mother's. Her husband was a vicar at our church and when he preached elsewhere we would go on vacations to see them. This recipe is from my Mother's recipe box, written in Eileen's handwriting with a note from my Mom that it was from her.
Any flavor Jello
3 c. sugar
3/4 c. white syrup
3/4 c. water
Boil above last 3 ingred. until hard ball stage, 265°. Stir constantly until sugar dissolves-then no stirring. Beat 2 egg whites 'til stiff. Sprinkle jello on egg whites & beat 'til stiff peaks. Pour syrup over all. Beat 'til it holds its shape. Add 1 c. nuts. Drop by spoon on greased cookie sheet or waxed paper.
