This recipe was jotted down on a now yellowed piece of letter paper, by my husband's grandmother.
12 red peppers
12 green peppers
Boiling water to cover
12 large onions
1 tablespoon salt
2 cups brown sugar
1 qt. vinegar
Wash peppers, remove seeds and chop coarsely. Cover with boiling water 5 min. Drain, cover with boiling water 10 min.; drain. Add chopped onions. Boil vinegar, sugar and salt 10 min., add to mixture, boil 15 min. (7 pints)
