This is on a VERY yellowed, almost brown fragile piece of lined paper. Nanny is my husband's grandmother and a note on the bottom of this is from her daughter, Aunt Evvy. "This I believe is Nanny's handwriting"
4 qts. cabbage sliced fine
2 qts. green tomatoes
10 onions
3 large red peppers
2 oz. white mustard seed
1/4 oz. celery seed
1 oz. black mustard seed
1 tablespoon tumeric
2 1/2 lbs. brown sugar
4 tablespoons salt
2 qts. vinegar
Mix & ...the last part of the directions are in a torn crease. It's only about a 1/2 line of a small piece of paper, so I would guess this would then get canned. Whether it would sit a little or be cooked a little would be a guess. The excitement of playing with old recipes!!!
