This recipe was found on the back of some gas reciept. It's not given a name, but after the recipe is the name Mr. McClutck. There is no date on the page, but it is in my husband's grandma's box and would probably date to very early 1900's. It is in her handwriting.
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup molasses
1/2 scant cup white syrup
1/8 cup boiling water
1/2 tablespoon soda
1 egg
salt
cinnamon & ginger
Flour to make stiff enough for drop cookies
