This recipe must have been well used. The recipe card is quite stained. I found it in my mother's recipe box, but it is typed, which is what my Grandma M. did with hers.
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
2 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teasp. salt
1/2 teasp. soda
1 cup chopped pecans
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs, flour sifted, add nut meats. Drop from teasp. on greased cooky sheet. Bake in moderate oven 350 from 12 to 15 min. Cookies should be put on the sheet 2 inch. apart.
