Margie was a dear friend of my mother's. Her husband was a vicor at our church when they were first married and they remained friends. The both had the same interests....cooking and crafts, which they shared and enjoyed.
1 qt. strawberries
1 cup sugar
3 tsp. cornstarch
1 cup whipped cream
Reserve 1/2 choice berries. Place in baked shell. Mash remaining berries until juice is extracted. Bring to boil, add sugar mixed with cornstarch. Cook slowly for 10 min. Let cool & pour over uncooked berries in shell. Chill. Top with whipped cream. Put in crust toward the last minute, soaks up the shell somewhat.
