Rotisserie Chicken

1 whole chicken

1 onion, quartered

1 apple. peeled and quartered

Seasonings

Barbecue Sauce

Rinse chicken well.  Season inside cavity well with your choice of seasonings. Place onion and apple in cavity and close tightly with poultry skewers or toothpicks.  (Make sure it is tightly shut) Season outside of chicken.  Place on rotisserie skewer. Tie with string around wing area to hold it together and do the same around the legs.  Place on rotisserie grill and cook on medium to medium low for about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours for a 3 1/2  to 4 pound chicken, up to about 2 hours for a 5 pound chicken.  Chicken should no longer be pink and should fall apart easily.  Baste occasionally with barbecue sauce.
